Bro Matt
Добавлен 23 июн 2007
Bro Matt is a dude from San Pedro, Cali. He resides in the Wild Kingdom's Love Grotto on Pleasure Point, where he pretends to live on an island & hangs in a hammock when he's not off having adventures.
His longtime friend & bass god Mike Watt records the popular i-radio program, The Watt From Pedro Show (twfps.com), @ the Wild Kingdom's studio in the Love Grotto Lounge. There are a few video clips from the show in the TWFPS playlist.
Back in the 80s, Brother Matt hosted some of the best blues players in Los Angeles on The Bluez Shift at 88.9FM KXLU, as well as a public access cable tv version at Jack Barry & American Cable. These clips are in the Bluez Shift playlist. Some of the Bluez Shift productions did not withstand the test of time so well & a few have some sketchy lo-fi quality, but they are classics.
There might even be some other misc stuff to check out, if'n you be so inclined, on a playlist named Other Stuff, or whatever. Thanks for stopping in to check it out!!!

William Clarke on Bro Matt's Bluez Shift (5of5)
I know right....
Great stuff i really love his style
“Being born is power” D “That’s enough of that. I don’t photograph well. Please.” Kind mom
I had the privilege of playing with these guys. Jed Paulker on guitar, Rasheed Abdullah on bass, sorry I don't remember the drummer's name. FYI I'm the guy in the sharkskin suit. Still here 40 years later😎
Wow it's been decades since i've seen the show. Awesome memories from back in the day
One of the best ever
Very nice!
What are the chords
I grew up in the same town as Bill. We used to play together occasionally. Very nice to see him remembered on you tube.
William was one of the greatest! A top player and showman. Sad he is no longer with us, he had soul and class. He was a nice guy and never had an attitude and treated everyone with respect. A great loss to the Blues world.
rollins looks like hes about to open fire
Sincerity is what its about☮️🦉love the curly arm chair. Thanks.
Pretty soon 😁
My 2nd time watching this , dang I wish you would have went on TV or local tour around Texas or something , also I just noticed I have the same guitar....24 hours blues lady!
bro just grab the microphone
Yeah! Like he professionnally do on stage!! 🎉🎉🎉
Brother Matt thank you for putting this on , can you make a couple calls to somebody to get Christine playing in a good place .... she needs to be on Austin City Limits or something updated...
Excelent
sick
Hey Mike ... check out what Hank says about you in Get In the Van ... LOL
You read my mind 😂😂
Great Playing and Singing Carlos , nice version of the Robert Johnson song.
What a band! Tried to see them at Safari Sam's in Huntington back in 85', unfortunately got there late, small place, couldn't get in, hung out in the street listening. I don't really think I understood back then how good they were. Grew up listening to a lot of punk rock and they were completely different from they styles of any bands at that time. Double Nickels on the Dime - Masterpiece
You were lucky to have even been able to overhear them live. I was born 3 years after this so I had zero chances. Fortunately, I've seen Mike Watt live twice though.
I saw William Clarke several times in Vancouver BC in the early 90's, got to sit and talk with him a couple times- he was friendly, kinda quiet and reserved, but when he got up onstage....it was NONSTOP ONSLAUGHT!

Outskirts of San Pedro? PV? Harbor city?
Outskirts of San Pedro? PV? Harbor city?
Just priceless, pre-internet lack of self-consciousness. High in the hills over Pedro.
Two years later and watching again because
A richer understanding Of what's already understood No meanings from the here and now What gift could be a work of art? Can you call it the big foist? I'm fucking overwhelmed
Playful playing
True Blues Willian Clarke the Best 🎹🎸🎸🥁🎸
Love that they always still played in Pedro

sound is so crappy
Givin' the type of recording in those times, the sound is fantastic! I know, its mono, not stereo, but I'm not a spoiled guy...
Awesome!
Why the internet should exist, bravo uploader
I love the Minutemen forever!!!! May god grant u an indulgence for posting this. R.I.P., d.
I need to be able to "LIKE" this more. The players are all amazing and the band was one of a kind. And here they are ripping through an epic setlist, at a friend's backyard party, months before D Boone's death.
So epic, so sad for those of us who know what lay in the very near future. This band was ready to EXPLODE at this point, but Dodge made garbage rear axels. Long live D. Boon.
Brother Matt! Miss you bro! I was your Risty bartender…🥲
Love it
Them teddybear faces on the couch fabric are fuckin me up...
Beautiful
Legends across the board
There is one in this room.. Go ahead and guess.
jus' found this .... every time I find some old Minute Men footage 1) I feel grateful that I was able to see them many times -n- 2) I get kinda sad, cuz the words and music created by these guys was absolutely amazing ..... I REALLY miss D. Boone. 💎🌠
I thought my birthday was cool when my mom made me a custom Pac-Man cake.
23:59 - 24:09 D. plays a guitar variant in "The Glory of Man."
And to this day there has been no band that even gets mentioned as minutemen-esque. Because there isn't one.
Parquet Courts reminds me of Minutemen a lot actually. See the song “Normalisation”
listen again, didnt pay attention much esp. toward end.
I'm a latecomer to the late, great Steve Samuels, but his guitar swings so hard and is so inspirational!
